Systems and Network Engineer Production IT (m/f/d)

Tasks

  • Ensure smooth daily operation of our IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, client devices, data centers, and IT security systems.
  • Independently implement projects within the ITI Systems Operation Teams (Production IT), ensuring continuous and, when required, highly available system operation through ongoing development and optimization.
  • Analyze errors and perform root cause investigations, developing strategies to improve IT services.
  • Act as the main contact for 2nd level support, resolving complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Coordinate work with external service providers and vendors.
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date technical documentation for all IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Lead technical introduction of new IT systems and manage technical migrations of existing systems.
  • Collaborate with production stakeholders, plant IT teams, the IT production digitalization team, and the central IT infrastructure team to define standards for production IT infrastructure, including wired networks, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and client devices.
  • Develop and implement security standards for production IT systems.
  • Communicate regularly with company locations and service providers in English.
  • Travel to BOS plants as required.

Profile

  • Have 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Production / Industrial IT environments, preferably within a manufacturing or production-focused organization.
  • Have strong communication skills – you can clearly explain requirements, implement solutions, and convince people without just imposing them.
  • Speak English at least level B2 – most of your work will be in this language.
  • Have experience in a production environment – you know that IT in such settings needs to run 24/7.
  • Take responsibility seriously – you make sure everything works and understand how IT affects the business.
  • Can work independently and lead IT projects on your own.
  • Think preventively – when something breaks, you find the root cause.
  • Know how to run migrations without causing downtime.
  • Are comfortable creating and working with technical documentation.
